Two of our MQ servers are generating huge number of FDC files with this probe id. Googling does not give me any usefl info. Do any one you have encoutered wtih this issue? I may need to go to IBM for I just want to do some research before that.
environment:
os: solaris sparc
MQ version: 7.0.1.3
Thanks in advance, |

It is rare that an FDC can be solved without opening a PMR. Particularly so if there are no hits on Google.
But it can help, if posting about FDCs here, if you can quote the box at the top of the FDC and also the MQM Function Stack.
Be sure to review the information before you post, to remove any private or sensitive information (eg. your machine name, queue manager name...) |

I agree with you. From what I found on google, it seems that the issue was in v6 and was resolved in later fix, but do not find any reference occurrence of this problem in v7. So, I went ahead and opened a PMR with IBM and waiting for their response. |

gbaddeley,
I solved this issues very interestingly.
I remembered having a strang issue on MQ on Solaris a few years ago when I was working on Solaris. So started my probe from project setup and kernel parameters setup.
immediately, I discovered that the kernel parameters are not set properly. Then I opened change ticket for OS folks to make that changes. But the OS folks insisted that they have setup these parameters same way on all server but we have this issue only only on two servers.
when I compared the /etc/project file on two servers they were same but the mqconfig script was showing correct parameters in one and wrong in other. It was very puzzling. But later on i discovered that the qmgr was started not using mqm user. once I stop qmgr and started wtih mqm, the generation of FDC stopped at the same point. |
