Folks, by running the MQSC command DIS QMGR ALL you can see when your queue manager was created. I am wondering where/why/who has the oldest queue manager.

Look at the CRDATE field for creation date.

I'll also create a poll, lets see when our queue managers were created.

well, that's funny....

I was checking my doc, and it look like my oldest was created 1994/02/24 (Now it's transfered to another service bureau because of a merger).

It was created to obtain parallism between DB2 applications and create COMMIT-isolation between batch applications. It was proposed by IBM.

just my $0.02

oz1ccg,
Are you saying that if you ask the queue manager when it was created, it comes back and says 1994/02/24?

If confirmed, you may very well have the oldest still running queue manager. Do you know what platform and version?

Dear kolban,

As I said it was transfered to another Service bureau (due to a merger), I guess it's still running there. It was a version 2.1 on OS/390 version 2.9.

When I do a dis qmgr on OS/390 version 2.1 it don't tell when i was created, so what I did was checking when some if the system dsn for that qmgr was created, and our configuration log....

Today my oldest running production qmgr is dated: 11/13/96 It's running 2.1 for another week, after that will be a 5.2...

I had the plasure to upgrade it from 1.1 to 1.2 and change the mover from CICS to MVS, that was a giant step forward. Then from 1.2 to 2.1 and now the versions will follow the distributed world and now become 5.2 and after january 5.3

Just my $0.02
