It won't stop trying until it reaches its short and long retries limit, if there is traffic intended for the stopped manager.

Start the stopped queue manager? Follow the 'how to keep your channels running' guide that's available somewhere via Google? Just what have you done to try and recover the situation? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

I understood the moment we stooped it will take time to stop channel (based on retries limit). Actually this is happening all of sudden 3 days after we stop the QM. |

What is happening 'all of a sudden'? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Probably because there are messages intended for that queue manager. Why did you stop the other queue manager? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

OK, so
- you have a PR that has notified your FR of its interest in certain objects.
- you shut down the PR (for whatever reason) without removing it from the cluster
- you modified one or more of the objects the PR has registered its interest in with the FR.
And you are surprised that the FR is trying to update the PR?
clustering manual
Note: Your symptom can also be a result of someone posting to a destination for which cluster resolution determined that the hosting qmgr was the PR you shut down...
And if you want real, targeted, advice, we need to know much more about your scenario.
