Can anyone recommend an efficient way of comparing the contents of Execution groups on 2 brokers, there seems to be a discrepency, and I need to identify whether the 2 brokers are identical, and contain the same versions of flows etc. Also is there a way of synchronising execution groups.

A quick CMP app will do this nicely for you.

Sure, take a look at the sample/ConfigManagerProxy directory inside your broker install directory.
Look at the DeployBAR sample for basic CMP usage, and the BrokerInfo sample (or DomainInfo on v6.x) for information on how to understand what's running on the broker.
The CMP API Exerciser (also available on the start menu) can serve as useful reference information on the different methods available.

Do you assign version labels to your bar files? If so, when the EG starts up, you can print to syslog (or any other log) what the version is. This gives you a handy way to knowing what is deployed where, especially when you have DEV, QA, PERF, and multiple PROD environments.
