I have installed MQ v7 on my Linux (Ubuntu) laptop. I am able to create, start, display queue managers, create a server connection and start channels, etc.
And yet, when I try to connect to the queue manager from MS0T SupportPac, I keep getting a message as queue manager not available.
Can you please guide me as to what could I be missing ? Or, at least, what should I look for ?

Anything you'd normally look for with a "queue manager not available" which is about as common an error as you get.
I'd start with the server connection channel definition and any potential firewall (which can be a problem even when everything's on the site hardware)

I'd start with the MQ error logs to see what it's complaining about.
I'd also make sure that it was the most recent level of MS0T and the most recent FP of WMQ. |

Hi,
I found that the listener was not running and so I started it. Also, I added a rule in iptables to allow 1414 port. But, now MS0T reports access denied message. I find it odd that, I am able to create a queue manager and run MQSC commands with mqm id (in mqm group) from command line. And yet, with the same ID and password, I am unable to connect from MS0T.
Where and what permissions need to be set ?
I have been trying out setmqaut command with its options but haven't got it working yet.

Can you try to start up the Explorer using the mqm user id?
Perhaps this thread can help you if it's a 2035 error.

I was unable to start Explorer from mqm id. I got a 'Segmentation fault'. Although, in MS0T, I am providing mqm user ID for user ID authentication.
I have been reading documentation for MS0T and it seems that local queue managers are detected automatically. So, I should not even be trying to 'add' a queue manager, right ? Although, the server connection channel is SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN instead of SYSTEM.ADMIN.*.
Nothing obvious can be seen in /var/mqm/errors or /var/mqm/log (with the display log utility).

Adding /opt/mqm/java/lib to LD_LIBRARY_PATH did the trick.
I logged in with the mqm ID. This time though, I logged into mqm's desktop instead of a su. Eclipse did start but connection did not happen. However, a message came up as follows.

A Google search for this message led me to a post in this forum. I learnt about the LD_LIBRARY_PATH setting from that post.

PS: Now, working on getting the WMB Toolkit to connect. Reading about 'Creating a broker and user databases'.
