Cardinal Health, a Fortune 18 company based in Columbus, OH has a current need for a Websphere Process Server - Sr. Programmer Analyst.
Purpose:
Provide technical support for IBM WebSphere Process Server and other BPM suite of products used for process orchestration at Cardinal Health. Provide Cardinal Health with market-competitive skills for robust and effective Process server development that supports Cardinal Health’s worldwide applications portfolio.
Responsibilities:
•Provide technical direction and help create stable, predictable and effective BPM layer at Cardinal.
•Develop, maintain and enhance applications for IBM Process Server and any tools required to monitor and provide stable environment.
•Work closely with Change Management, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance to ensure full compliance with Cardinal Software Development Lifecycle process and standards.
•24x7x365 reliable support that leverages collective resources to meet service level expectations.
Actively participate in build activities for WebSphere Process Server solutions. Ensure planned modifications are in compliance with the strategic roadmap of the enterprise. Take lead on providing technical solutions / directions to ensure systems / applications are highly available and meet service level agreements. Work with business clients, business IT personnel and development staff to avoid communication gap and ensure customer / client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, etc. or equivalent IS experience.
•At least 5 years experience in a development and/or IT environment.
•2+ years of development experience using IBM Websphere Process Server 6.2 and IBM Websphere ESB.
•3+ years of J2EE application development experience
•3+ years of experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
•3+ years of experience in Web Services development using standards like SOAP, REST, WS-Security, etc…
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
•Leadership – Keep senior level staff informed. Ability to make sound, timely decisions by considering multiple sources of information, seeking out relevant information that may not be within own knowledge base.
•Development Lifecycle - Required to follow the established software development lifecycle and ensure that all resources follow it as well.
•Maturity - Ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure. Required to work with internal clients and external vendors in a professional manner. Must represent the needs and constraints of IT while meeting the needs of the client.
•Flexibility – Ability to work on multiple initiatives at once. Expertise in quickly tabling one project and picking up another as priorities change.
•Team work – Must work with leadership of other IT teams (networking, database, engineering, service center, business partners, etc.) to ensure software delivery and support.
•Innovation – Ability to recognize and implement opportunities for improvement within existing processes. Ability to draw on one’s experiences without getting mired in the past.
•Interpersonal Skills – Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with various teams including development, engineering and support. Must understand the different types of diplomacy required in a variety of situations and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
