| TDF applies to entire message set? |

I have two questions:
1. I created a TDF for my message set and it now has been applied to every Type I have created. The TDF I defined was for a single message type coming in - why would it apply to all of the message types and can I remove it from the other types?
2. It looks like I cannot change the datatype of an element even when I check out the Type and the element. Do I have to delete the element and recreate?

Melissa,
TDF tab will be added to your complete message set. You cannot have format defined for a type or element, it's defined at MessageSet level.
Let's say you have defined 2 different types of messages (Inbound and Outbound) in the same message set, and you want to define input and output message as TDF and CWF respectively. In this scenario, you will have to give dummy values in CWF tab for inbound message. While parsing inbound message you will use inbdound message definition to parse input message using TDF format (MessageFormat property). Similarly, while creating output message you will set MessageFormat to CWF and ive dummy values in TDF tab in outbound message definition.
You cannot change the datatype of an element once created. You will have to delete and recreate the element with different datatype.

In the situation that Kiran described, I have found that if your inbound and/or outbound messages have a lot of elements, it may be less confusing and less time-consuming to create two message sets. One with TDF and the second with CWF definitions.
