What tells Broker where the ODBC.INI file lives?

What does the -w switch do on the mqsicreatebroker command?

I admit, my answer was intentionally vague. This is because the question is relatively straightforward and shouldn't require anything more than a basic understanding of System and OS Administration. Which you should have before trying to configure broker.

Have you looked in the Documentation for your answer?
Have you entered the command in a properly configured command window.

Both of these would have told you the answer.
You will get much more help if you are very specific about your question and also say what you have done and tried. This way people who read your post will be able to supply a more relevant answer etc.

And as Jeff so aptly asked what tells the broker that the path will be /var/mqsi/odbc ?? (note that this is a default path)

At the time of installation of MB I believe the DBA did all the configuration.

So I am not sure what exactly tells the broker to go to that path.

Can you tell me at least one example how should i use the -w option?

Thanks,
Prakash

The -w switch is used on mqsicreatebroker.

You do not know Broker well enough, nor apparently basic systems administration and management, to execute the task that you are being given to do.

We can not possibly provide you with the necessary and sufficient training to get to where you want to go from where you are - certainly absolutely not for free, and entirely not within the free time we have from our regular jobs.

Please Try Harder.
