I have an application that uses the MQ Series CICS Bridge. I put a message on a CICS request queue, which starts a DPL program and then the CICS Bridge places the results from the DPL Program on the REPLYTOQ, specified in the MQMD of the original Request Message. How do I set the EXPIRY for the REPLY message? The reason I wish to do this is so that if the User doesn't get the message off the REPLY TO Queue in a specified time, I want the message to never be retrieved (expired).
Thanks,
Gary |

At present the CICS bridge always writes messages with unlimited expiry.
The need to be able to control the expiry time in reply messages is a known requirement which should be addressed in a future release of MQ.
If you need to do something immediately you could look at the API crossing exit for CICS. You could use the exit to recognize PUTs from the bridge and change the expiration value in the message _________________ Bob Buxton

As of version 5.3.1 (available only for the mainframe sometime in March), the bridge for both CICS and IMS will respect the request messages Expiry value, assuming the correct flag is set in the IMS/CICS header. _________________ Peter Potkay
