Hi,
We have a requirement where in we are expected to install WMB 6.0.0.1 version toolkit on a windows based system where already RAD 7.1 is installed.
We are aware as per the installation document that the version of RAD could be 6.0.1.1 for problem free functioning of both WMB toolkit and RAD.
But we have already done the installation of toolkit on a system containing RAD 7.1 and are facing the problems including invisibility of some of the nodes from the palette and unble to open the view Broker Development.
I got to know that RAD 7.1 can be uninstalled, install WMB toolkit and then reinstall RAD. But with this we run a huge risk as RAD has been done with many configurations during development.
So please let me know for any other work around so that we resolve all the installation issues with WMB toolkit and ensure a smooth working of both the IDEs.
Thanks in advance and please help at the earliest as its in a critical stage. |

AFAIK, you can install the Broker Toolkit as a completely separate environment to RAD/WID etc.
Have you considered this option? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

You shouldn't be installing toolkit 6.0.0.1 Toolkit
You should at a minimum be installing 6.0.2.x Toolkit.
But you really should be installing 6.1 or 7.0 Toolkit, as 6.0 Broker runtime and tooling go out of support in less than a year. |

Thanks for a very quick response.
smdavies99, can you please elaborate in detail about your suggestion. What I understand is that you are suggesting to install WMB toolkit on a separate box without RAD. If my understanding is correct, I would say that we are lacking adequate infrasturcture and this is going to be a temporary arrangement we are expected to bear with.
mqjeff, we install the toolkit 6.0.0.1 as base version and then upgrade it to 6.0.2 as we have the fix packs. With respect to out of support, its left to the customer. I believe the customer migrates to 6.1 or 7.0 only after the support ends. |

If you install 6.0.0.2 (or whatever) you can install EVERYTHING into its own directory trees. This way, you can avoid any conflict with RAD or any other Eclipse based software. This is how WMQ installs MQ Explorer which is based upon Eclipse.
For example, if you have installed RAD into C:\Program Files\IBM\....
Then install the toolkit (ALL BITS inc the Shared parts) into C:\IBM\... _________________ WMQ User since 1999
