Apologies if I'm not spending enough time to look thru all the doc, but last time I had read up on FASTPATH my understanding is that it ran in the same process as the queue manager, and although it is presented as quite efficient, for a busy production system instead of having just failure of a channel, it could bring down WMQ.
- so MCA channels should be no different regarding FP as any other MQ connection using FP.
Is this correct?

You should have done the research. Fastpath binding has been discussed many, many times here.
