I am working on a message flow that needs to make an HTTPS call via the HTTPRequest node.

We followed the directions for adding the cert to the cacerts file via the keytool command. Link - http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ap12235_.htm

We then tried a request and got the "unknown certificate" exception thrown by the node during the SSL handshake process.

We then bounced the broker (even though the directions did not mention a need to) and still got the same error.

All of this happened last week. Over the weekend our servers were powered down and then restarted.

I tried to make the HTTPS call again this morning and it worked.

Do you really need to bounce the broker twice to get certificate additions to the cacerts file picked up?

If this is the requirement can someone point me to the documentation explaining this process? The docs we found for adding the cert to the cacerts file made no mention of restarting the broker once, let alone twice.

We are running WMB 6.0 on AIX 5.3.

Thanks.

Yes.

I've no idea if it's documentated anywhere. It's more a well known fact.

Ok, that seems really odd.

I've been getting funny looks from our admins when I say to restart the broker twice to pick these additions up.

I was hoping to be able to point them at some documentation to show I'm not crazy.

It would have been nice if someone had posted a link. One less reason for people to give me funny looks...
