when this node transforms a message from JMS to MQ and the encoding in the input Properties tree = 0, where is the value for MQMD.Encoding derived?

in our case the encoding is being set to 273, which doesn't work with our auditing service. we've updated our flows to make the necessary change, but i'm curious where the 273 came from.

Very likely that 273 is the MQ encoding of the platform your qmgr is on.
(You do realize that the encoding defines endian-ness whereas the CCSID defines the character code set).
