Is there a way to disable the MQ client from logging information to the vmserr.log file? It writes to this file all the time with informational type messages and eventually effects system performance.
Not sure what information you're looking for, but the file is located in:
sys$sysroot:[mqm.errors]
The MQ Client opens and closes this file with every write, which is does quite often. The file became very fragmented and slowed our system performance. Once it was removed/renamed, system performance returned to normal. MQ Client recreates the file after it is renamed/removed. I would like to disable the use of this file since it doesn't seem to be used for logging only errors but instead logs tons of useless information. I haven't been able to find anything in the documentation about this file or how to disable it.
Which platform is this please? VMS assumed... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.
