Howdy!

I'm preparing an install script for MQ 5.3 on Sun Solaris 5.8. Quick Beginnings lists the following:

Sun Solaris 7 (32 bit) with patches:
107171-02 - patchadd, patchrm patch. You should install this patch first
107544-03 - fsck patch. (must be installed before 106541-17)
106950-16 - linker patch
106327-11 - 32 bit shared library patch for C++
106300-10 - 64 bit shared library patch for C++
106541-18 - kernel update patch
106980-17 - libthread patch
Note:
Later versions of the same, or equivalent, patches also work.
Sun Solaris 8 (32 bit)

Note this does not list any patches for 5.8 (and does not mention 64 bit).

The 'readme' that came with the CD-ROM list the following:

If you are going to use the SSL support provided by WebSphere MQ 5.3
on Solaris 2.8, you need to apply the following patches or equivalent
superseding levels of these patches :

108434-02, 111327-02, 108991, 108827 and 108528.

My questions:

1. There are no patches listed in the Quick Beginnings for 5.8 and Sun Solaris 5.8 64 bit is not listed at all. Will I need patches on the Sun before installing?

2. I advised my Midrange Sun Administrator of the patches listed for SSL support and he asked for the rev number for each (of the listed patches, only the first two list rev numbers). Does anyone know what rev numbers we need on the patches to support SSL?

Any assistence with this would be greatly appreciated.
