There are some more specific requirements, kind of, in the Quick Beginnings Guides for the different platforms.
In general, the minimum requirements are going to be no less than the minimum requirements for the OS itself that you have chosen.
In general, the amount of CPU and memory and disk that MQ needs depends more on the applications talking to MQ than on MQ itself.
You should review the Performance Report SupportPacs for capacity planning information. |

To slightly amplify what mqjeff has stated:
1. The QB Guide will normally state the installation size of the binaries, but sizing for the queues/logs is dependent on the solution design, which is why message size, persistency, volumes, and recovery requirements are important items that need to be known by you, otherwise it's guesstimate time.
2. As regards CPU and RAM, that again is dependent on the solution. Does it need fast throughput, therefore large buffers, therefore a lot of RAM? Is it using SSL, therefore CPU usage may be high if crypto hardware isn't off-loading.
One solution may only need a 'thin and crispy' box in the corner of an office somewhere, another solution may require a monster 16 CPU box with all the RAM in the world. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Read the Performance Support Packs. THey detail what hardware they ran on to get the performance #s they did. _________________ Peter Potkay
