I read in the Intercommunication manual that setting the MQIBindType to FASTPATH is good for performance but at the same time we need to ensure that the environment is really stable. We have a Queue Manager on our side on Sun Solaris communicating with a Mainframe remotely. My question is how can we ensure that our environment is stable? Is it safe to set the option to FASTPATH? does anyone have an idea on the performance improvement it gives? Thanks so much for all the ideas. |

You can set the client to FASTPATH Binding. How ever, if the client goes down, the Qmgr cannot release the connection until it is restarted.
If you use, STANDARD Binding, the Qmgr will release the connection as it performs the checks for the clients.
The Use of Bindings also effect your UOW majorly. |
