There's a little button at the top of this page... something about sample code... Try there. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

We're not a training resource. And IMHO the syntax of the command is simple enough that with a little experimentation you'll get it, without being spoonfed an example.
If you're that new at this, you should push back at whoever's given you this task and point out that you need training before you can work this product. This could be either a formal course, or employing an experienced person on a short term contract to mentor you.
The Job Postings section in this forum is provided for this purpose.
One of my associates has suggested that if your management persist in the belief you can do this job without proper training, you ask if they'd be happy for you to repair the brakes on their car. If they complain you're not trained to do it, it won't be correctly done and they could be killed, smile and ask if they've got the point.
Yours is a depressingly common story. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I went to Mr. Google and entered the following search string:
distribution list sample code +mq _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Your teachers get paid to teach you.
We don't.
You are going to school to learn.
We are not.
Learning is just as "active" a process as "teaching". And, as has been said, we're not going to teach you. |

We would like to help you out, but as has been pointed out, this board is NOT a training or teaching resource, nor can it be used as such. WebSphere MQ is a complex and deep product, one that cannot be learned overnight.
Most on this board will have undergone expensive training to various levels, consolidated by hands-on experience within the work-place, followed by further training.
To reach the level of competence that you require to be at, and within what looks to be a short span of time, took me at least a year, and I had the benefit of doing it for a living, and with mentor support.
Please understand that we cannot provide you with the level of assistance you require. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

A clue: A distribution list is not an mq object; rather, it's a programming construct.
Since a dist list is a programming construct, you could look at the WMQ Application Programming Guide, and search for distribution list.
In a prior post, I suggested you go to Google, and enter these search terms: mq+distribution+list+sample+code. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

IBM Redbooks are probably the most useful for POC type learning, there are loads on WMQ.
They also have downloadable materials including source code to allow you to recreate the example scenarios in the book.
