Hi All,
As I was reading JMS tutorial from Sun , few questions remained unanswered .Could somone pls help.

1. MQ Series is a JMS provider. Since all application servers are supposed to have JMS provider , then WAS should also have its own JMS provider. Is it is so, why did IBM develop another provider called MQ series ?

2. What is a JMS server? Is it different from JMS provider?

3. Do other APP server like JBoss, Weblogic do not need MQ Series .Since being app servers they should have something equivalent of JMS provider ( MQ Series) within them.Is that so?

Thanks a lot.

It does.

MQSeries pre-dates JMS & has more features than the JMS standard. It's also more scaleable, robust, etc, etc, etc, ...

It's a server running JMS provider software.

They all have JMS capability like WAS does. If you'd use that, or replace it with WMQ, is another question of itself.
