Hi all,
I have installed the DB2 8.1.7 in windows vista system. After succesful installation when I tried to create the sample database it is throwing me the below error.
"SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued.
SQLSTATE=57019"
Pl let me know if any one has idea to solve this problem.
Thanks,

- See if DB2 8.1.7 runs under Vista
- Issue a start database command
- See if the database starts
- Resolve errors as necessary (possibly posting in DB2 forum) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

In addition to the comments already made by Vitor...
DB2 V8.1.7 is very old. As a minimum you should be at the latest patch level for 8.1/8.2 add to that, it may not work on Vista (does on XP & Server 2003 though)
If you selected NOT to create the TOOLSDB during the DB Installation
AND
you didn't create a database before rebooting, you may very well get the scenario you are encounterind (Always assuming that it works on Vista)
This is why I always create a DB at install time then there is something for the Database manager to start.
You can start the DBM & the Instance manually
From a DB2 command window
Code: |
db2 start database manager
db2start
|
Finally,
you should really be thinking long & hard about going to 9.1.5. The self tuning features in V9.x area big improvement over V8.x _________________ WMQ User since 1999

As far as I know DB2 8.1.7 is not supported on Vista. You need to move to a supported level. _________________ MGK
