can I put an entire file on a mqseries queue on an as400 as opposed to 1 record = 1 mq message |

The application portion of a message can contain whatever you want it to, including less traditional application content, such as XML, MP3s, Word documents, and other files of your choosing. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

The as400 platform makes no difference to this. You can send messages up to 100 MB but you usually find that greater than 4 MB requires changes to channel, xmit queue, dlq etc for max message sizes etc.
You can also send segemented messages or groups of messages. The decision depends on how large the files might ever be. If they are larger than 4 MB I would suggest using segmented messages as these are quite easy to code (and documented in the WMQ App Prog Guide) |
