Hi Gurus,
Can we convert xml file to rich text format or word document using Message Broker.
Some where I read using using FileOutNode we can do that.Is it correct?
I heared that Message Broker Extender is separate Product not part of Message Broker.
WMB6.1 contains FileInput ,FileOutNodes in the product it self? So using WMB6.1 can we convert xml file into rich text format or word document.
Please through some light on it
Thanks

The short answer to your question, is
YES.
with a big but.
The work involved in the actual conversion is absolutely huge.
It is not in the Input/Output but in actually converting the file to RFT and/or MS-Word format.
The first thing I'd look at is if you can use something like OpenOffice via some api calls to do the work. Why re-invent the wheel?
Bear in mind that some more recent version of MS-Word format (.docx) versions are possibly protected by Patents and you might be on sticky legal grounds in that respect.
There is the question as to why you want to do this? IMHO, this is not a typical use of WBI but hey, what do I know....
Have you looked at other tools that can do this? Some are pretty cheap when compared to WBI. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Pedantically I must point out that an "xml file" is nothing more than a text document with a specific format. Hence such a file can be opened with either a rich text editor or a copy of Word.
The question, as others have said, is why you're doing this. By defining your requirements you'll define your needs and how the product can meet them. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
