Do you mean that a client is connected to QMA, sending messages and receiving replies, that if QMA is part of a cluster the process takes 10-15 seconds while if QMA is suspended the process takes less than a second?
If so, it means the cluster process is loading your box. Have you performed the usual checks for where the CPU is going? Also how large is the cluster QMA & QMB are in? Is one or either a full repository? Are there any messages in the logs reporting a problem?

Error logs (not the other logs) are down the file path in 'error' folders. Locations of these folders are documented in the WMQ System Admin manual. You van view them (with Notepad, cat, vi, ...) any time you like, with no risk to the qmgr. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Then investigation moves to the queue manager log files and network issues. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

The investigation is not "are there messages in the error log files" but "are the transaction log files sized appropriately?"
Channel batch size and transaction log size can positively or negatively affect the time it takes to move messages across a channel. |
