A colleague tells me he's successfully used the Broker V6.1 File nodes with an FTP proxy by setting the right userid/password properties using mqsisetdbparms. It's possible this won't work with all FTP proxies, but I pass it on in case it's useful.
For example:
mqsisetdbparms brokerName \
-n ftp::securityIdentity \
-u <ftpServerUsername@proxyUserName@ftpServerHostname \
-p ftpServerPassword@proxyUserPassword

This is news to me.
I've tried this same thing couple of months ago and it didnot work for us here. I was at the base 6.1 version at the time and have since upgraded to 6.1.0.3. I will give it a shot sometime soon.
Can you confirm for us the version and fixpack your friend was using at the time he accomplished this task.
Greatly appreciate your commitment to this forum mate, taking the time to inform us of this. _________________ LIFE is a series of complex calculations, somewhere multiplied by ZERO. |

Hi,
ok. So I give my own comment now I was using WMB 6.1.0.2.
You have to set the proxy url as the hostname on the file node.
As mqpaul said it may depend on the ftp proxy. The proxy is evaluating those strings and is routing to the correct target server. For the file node the proxy acts like a normal hostname/ftp server.
So I assume that it is not related to a specific WMB version.
Cheers,

I agree - this FTP behaviour is not controlled by the File nodes. As far as the File nodes are concerned, they are just using an FTP server. It depends on how that FTP server uses the username and password strings in your mqsisetdbparms identity. If it's actually a proxy, and if the username and password strings work for that proxy, you're in; otherwise you're nowhere. _________________ Paul |
