Hi Just finished installing MQ v6 on solaries and now testing the installation

Created a QM and then a local queue successfully.

But not able to put message on the local queue with the command amqsput.

But when I ran the command from the path /opt/mqm/samp/bin as
./amqsput localQ QM then I was able to browse and get the message from the local queue.

Am I missing something or made some silly mistake which I am not able to figure out.

Whats the problem

I'd guess that /opt/mqm/samp/bin isn't in your $PATH.

One or other of those I'd imagine.

The WMQ install (like most other products on Solaris) doesn't modify the PATH for all users. Or any users IIRC on Solaris. Certainly doesn't include the samples directory.

You'll need to make sure this directory is in the PATH of all users who need it, by whatever means your site employs.

Thanks, I found that $path does not contain its proper value

The MQ directories (including the samples) should not be in the PATH. It doesn't make sense to put them there. The samples are just that, samples, and shouldn't need to be used as part of normal MQ operations. The other MQ programs (bin directory) are linked from /usr/bin (which is in the PATH, so no problem there).

Its OK to add the samples dir to your personal PATH (via your login profile script), but don't do it system-wide.
