I am trying to set up the MQ Workflow(3.6 sp5) and mq (6.0+) with remote database DB2 9.5. As per the workflow manual remote database operating system should be same as of worklfow server operating system. Can't i have the database on solaris and mq workflow on AIX? Is there any rationale for the different OS? Am i missing something.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
sorry but the manual is correct: the DB must run on the same OS as the MQWF server(s). The rationale is that it is simply not implemented |

Thanks Hos for the reply, but when you say that "The rationale is that it is simply not implemented", what do you really mean?.
Thanks

Just in case Volker is not available, I can tell you what I think. The only tested and therefore supported combinations have the Database and MQWF on the same OS. There are likely no "technical" reasons that the mixed systems would not work, but they have never been tested and certified. It would be very foolhardy to run a system that did not have IBM support behind it.
Just my thoughts. _________________ John McDonald
