Hi,
I am looking for the best way to browse DLQ messages on z/OS.
If I use something like BCG or BVAR, I get the MQMD, but not the MQDLH in the proper format.
Any good suggestions.
This is for a helpdesk team to be able to see the MQDLH codes. So MQ knowledge and access is not that high. (It is an application DLQ, rather than the system DLQ).
Thanks,
Ross. |

What is your company's MQ monitoring tool? Its MQ Adminisration tool? One or both will have a friendly GUI that non MQ experts can use to poke around, if they are given the rights to by the MQ admin. _________________ Peter Potkay

We have Mainview, which we don't really bother with. I'll look further into that.
I had an idea of a batch job, but will investigate if Mainview can do the job.
Thanks. |

Is supportpac MA10 ISPF Utilities Collection installed at your site? It includes MQBRO, an ISPF-based utility to browse queues - including the dead-letter queue. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

MA10 isn't at our site.
It would be a good option.
The issue I face is that the users won't have much access, so the panels may not be suitable. And I will have difficulty getting my management to approve a change to logon procs and panels to get this installed.
Mainview doesn't seem to have the option of browsing a queue.
I'm looking for something similar to CSQ4BCG, but that would include a DLH. A batch job. Ideally.
I'm working on MA10 to see if I can run it as a TSO EX'DSN(MA10)' using Libdefs.
Any more tips appreciated!!
Thanks,
Ross. |

supportpac MA1C holds a program "MGET" that prints the message including headers, including the DLH Header. _________________ Regards, Butcher |

No CAF here.
I'll look into MA1C.
Thanks. |
