Hello folks. I am a complete MQ noob but am learning slowly. I have MQ 6 for linux installed on one of my boxes and explorer connects no problem. My MQ5.3 for linux, however, I cannot connect to. I have done the following per the IBM documentation
DEFINE CHANNEL(SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN) CHLTYPE(SVRCONN) DESCR('Administration connection') MCAUSER('mqm')
DEFINE QMODEL(SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL)
When I try and connect I still get an error saying unable to connect. What am I missing?
Thanks |

The command server is not running. Not sure why this is the case. Again, I am a complete novice to MQ. Should it be running by default? If not, how do I make it start by default. I noticed on my MQ6 box it is running.
Thanks so much |

I seem to remember that on 5.3 the command server wasn't started by default, and that you had to start it manually using the strmqcsv command.
This may have changed in later CSDs of 5.3
In MQ 6 it is started automatically by default. _________________ Cheers,

Script it so that it starts with the queue manager. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
