I am fairly new to the MQ Explorer GUI. We just installed MQ 7.0 on a RHEL 4 Server. I have the MQ Explorer running on my local Windows machine to admin the QMGR. I am able to remotely connect to the qmgr using the MQM userid. I can add/modify/ create channels and queues. I can also start/stop the channels. However, I receive an AMQ4043 which trying to browse a queue, or put a test message. The communication is being done over a SVRCONN channel I added to the QMGR. The below queues were created and given +all authority for mqm. WHY can't I do this??????
SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.QUEUE
SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE
SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.QUEUE
also
MQAI.**

AMQ4043
Queue manager not available for connection.
Severity
20 : Error
Response
Ensure that the queue manager is running. If the queue manager is running on another computer, ensure it is configured to accept remote connections.

I would have in fact expected some kind of security error from what your setup description was. You did not specify that you had in fact given inq and browse on the queues you wanted to browse...
Are you sure you are trying to connect to the qmgr you think you are trying to connect to? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Why? blovell wrote:

Presumably meaning an admin level MCAUSER is set.
To my shame, I have not yet had the time to look deeply into V7, so has something changed in the security model? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
