Hi,

my jave client sends a byte message with the following settings:
to MQ:
mBuf.format= MQC.MQFMT_STRING ;
mBuf.characterSet = 500;
mBuf.encoding = 785;

Now I'd like to decode the message using java but I always fail.
It gets written:

ÃžÃ€PH ÃŽ

What are the correct setting to correctly decode this message?

Given that my knowledge of Java is slightly worse than my knowledge of the dark side of the Moon (the orbiting body not the album), why is this a byte message not a text message? Following this, why are you trying to convert it in an application rather than using WMQ to convert it?
