Hi,
I need some clarification. Assume followoing:
Qmgrs are confiugred with circular logging and there is a dedicated volume for /var/mqm. A Mass Data Upload is taking place and the application that gets the messages crashes and filesytem is full.
Following the information I found, the Qmgr will write the receiving messages into the log files and at a latter time, it will write it to the queue files via “lazy write”. (If this information is not correct, please let me know). My assumption is that the Qmgr will accept the messages from the sending Qmgr because of the circular logging even if the file system is full. But what happens to the transfer of the messages to the queue files? If the file system is full for a longer time of period, the cache that the “lazy write” is using will evtl. run out of space, won't it ? And what then ? Will I loose messages ?
Could anybody help me understand ? |

If your messages have been defined as persistent there is no message lost.
You need to stop the receiving channel if not already done. Restart the consumer. Verify your file space and if needed add some. Verify your DLQ.
Restart the receiver once you think you can accept more messages.
Verify the channel is in running status. If in retry verify the logs and follow the procedure in the intercommunications manual about resolving an in doubt channel should it be in doubt.
