Websphere Application Server Administrator, is required for our client a Global organisation and a leading player in their field based in the Midlands. This is an excellent company to work for, with the potential for progression. The main duties of this position are the Upgrade, support, maintenance and tuning of WAS / WPS and associated tools and utilities. To install new WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal Server environments. Apply maintenance to existing environments. To advise on design and management of WAS and WPS estate. Deploy Application code into WAS and WPS and trouble shoot as required. Pro-actively ensure WAS and WPS estate is offering required high levels of availability and performance. Respond to service alerts raised in response to issues in the WAS and WPS production services. Offer advice to development teams on new WAS/WPS applications. Be aware of new developments in the WAS and WPS arena and how they be relevant to new applications or affect our existing systems. You will need to have experience in WAS ideally (V5 or above) and WPS (V5 or above) administration experience and Linux operating system. They are currently redeveloping Operational systems to run on Intel Linux platforms running WAS / WPS and so this will be a challenging position for the right candidate.
