I currently have MQIPT running which listens on one port, accepts a connection from a client and forwards messages to my MQ server. Now I want to add another client to connect from a different source, forwarding messages on a different channel to a different queue.
Do I need to listen on a separate MQIPT port for each client or can both of these connections connect to the same MQIPT port? |

As long as both use the same destination host and port they can share the same MQIPT port as they will use the same forwarding. The channel name is provided by the client not by MQIPT _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Actually, the second client would forward to a different MQ Server destination, so it would have its own block defined in MQIPT. Do you think this would work? |

We have one box running MQIPT and 3 route defined on that MQIPT. So you can access 3 different qmgrs using that box.
Each route uses it's own inbound port on MQIPT.
However if multiple applications need to access the same qmgr, one route should be sufficient.
