Hi ,
We are in the process of upgrading MQ v 5.3 CSD 4 to v 6.X on solaris 9.Can someone share some best practice tips regarding this upgrade steps or any specific steps we need to follow during the course of the upgrade .
We also have MQIPT v 1.3.2 and MQ clusters are on top of Sun cluster for HA .We also ahve one j2EE app running on weblogic 8.1 which connects to this MQ servers.Do we need to have anything to be done at weblogic /application end for the same .
Thanks,
SM |

Look at the manuals "WMQ Migration Information V6.0" and "WMQ Quick Beginnings for Solaris V6.0" in the Library or Info Center. _________________ Glenn |

A few thoughts:
At the very least, you should have a documented and tested fallback plan. You should have a set of benchmark applications that you can run to validate that the upgrade still allows your business applications to run.
Practice upgrading on a test qmgr.
The WMQ System Admin manual has an entire section devoted to Recovery and Restart that describes what MQ needs to stay alive and well. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
