File Input node not picling up the file

I am using file input node.. File is placed in the specified folder C:/fileinput/*.dat ..But failed to pick it..not processing the file ..not getting any error.. what is the reason that File input node failing to listen/pick the file ?

Hav you checked for any errors in user trace...?

What options have you specified on your FileInput node?
