I have installed WMB 6.0 under MSCS running Windows 2003 Server R2. I set up the MSCS resources (3 queue mgrs, 1 broker, 1 confgi mgr, generic services for broker and config mgr, IP, shared disk) and initially I was able to move the Resource Group from 1 node to other. After a few days, I noticed that when I tried to move the Resource Group, the broker's related resources (generic service, broker's queue manager, DB2) would stay in the "offline Pending" status for abut 10 minutes, and then the broker's generic service resource would fail, and then everything would come back up online on the other node. The config mgr (and its queue manager) and the other queue managers would go offline immediately when the I moved the Resource Group. This 10-minute delay happened every time.

I deleted the broker (its queue mgr, database), re-created it again under MSCS. Again, the failover problem initially went away but it has since resurfaced.

Any suggestions? My Windows is on a Sun box.

Huh?

Anyway, what does the Event Viewer show while you are waiting? We have the same problem. One of the Execution Groups, the one with all the HTTP flows, just takes forever to end. While we wait there are messages in the Event Viewer letting us know the Broker is waiting for this EG to end. We are still at WBIMB 5.0. We are going to WMB 6.1 soon and hope the problem will be gone.

On the Events, there were error messages where the broker's queue manager was attempting to establish the channel connections to the config mgr's queue mgr. Other than that, there was no other errors. This happens on my yet-to-be-deployed production boxes - so there is no message waiting to be processed. I have a few simple message flows and I do not have any HTTP nodes.

When the broker's generic service (under MSCS) is being offlined, is there any parameter that determines how long the broker would wait for an execution group to end? Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of. Would like to know about it if it exists.
