Does anyone know if MS0R (PWServer channel sec exit) is still available? I can't see it on the IBM SupportPac page, nor on their list of withdrawn SupportPacs. |

In my humble opiniion:
This is BS... is it reversed engineered or is IBM not willing to hassle for a zero revenue item.

Did you review both MQAUSX and MS0R before offering your 'humble opinion'? I seriously doubt that you would have made that statement if you had.
I chose not to be silent about this issue.

Ok, valid point ... I have not ... I assume IBM has ... what does this say about the state of any supportpac put out as Free and unencumbered... this is not a good precedent!!! _________________ "Truth is ... grasping the virtually unconditioned",

Hi,

We fully support free SupportPacs. Our action was against a particular SupportPac and not SupportPacs in general.

Actually, what it shows is that you should stand up and fight for your rights, even if you are challenging a large company - hence, it does set a good precedent.

Oh, good. I'll refer all my ms03 customers to you!
IBM only supports Cat 3 free support packs.
Everyone should evaluate the support level of any given support pack before deciding whether to use it in production based on the cost/risk/benefit analysis. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Let me try that again.
We fully support the concept of free SupportPacs.

No Support is one thing free of legal entanglements are another.
Only speaking from a perspective of IBM customer,
a Bad precedent for users of IBM supportpacs. _________________ "Truth is ... grasping the virtually unconditioned",
