Hi

The question here it is
1. Did you stop the queue manager properly and upgraded.
2. Did you clean up all the semaphores and shared memory before migrating/upgrading.
3. Did you set the environmnet variables, I can see that the environment variables haven't set properly from the stack trace.

The qmgr is for production, and I think the sys admin can't be that careless. Thanks for the info though.

The upgrade was done by another team, and I think they could have stopped and upgrade the qmgr properly.
2. Did you clean up all the semaphores and shared memory before migrating/upgrading.
Not sure about this. I am not familiar with "the semaphores and shared memory". Is that related to application programming or design?

I did see the info that env variable not set properly. As I am only in charge of MQ as a beginner, not sure which should be set. I will check that out.
Thanks for your questions.

Hey

as it seems there are lots of missing gaps...

try to get the details first, all these can lead to problem

Cleaning up of semaphores and shared memory is an integral part before migrating.

I suspect they missed some of the important elements here...while migrating

As we haven't got the clear answer(s) for the questions we asked.

They could have, but did they?

Not even slightly; it's connected to the control of the software within the Unix environment. The box admin should have checked it / performed it.

You'll find details in the Quick Beginning guide for your platform. Which, as a beginner, you should have read before attempting administration, installation, migration or upgrade.
