We are trying to test the restart-ability for message flow with MBFE input node in case of a catastrophe error (power failure)
Basically, when we were testing this last year, we submitted a file with 160 records into an MBFE input node with the following settings:
Transaction Mode: Yes, Record Batch Scope
Batch Size: 50
Retry: 3
Interval: 5
1 message was create for each record and output to a queue
Test was ran in Debug mode, so we were able to killed the DataFlowEngine.exe through Task manager when the 103rd record is in processing.
DataFlowEngine.exe then came back up and MBFE restarted processing at 104th record. So we ended up with 157 output messages in output queue (100 from the 2 previous commits and 47 from after the restart) and 3 messages went to error queue (the batch start counting again from 104th, and the 2 records 101st, 102nd when to error queue with 103rd with Dequeue error)
The behaviour was what we observed with last year test
However, this morning when I tested a flow with the same test scenario, MBFE did not restart processing of file and we just ended up with 100 output messages. 2 reasons I could think of are:
1. We had an update to the Broker toolkit from 6.0.0.2 to 6.0.2 (but File extender stay the same with Fix pack 2)
2. The message flow i used to test this morning has MBFE output node in it (but it only used at the very last message, the main output for every record is still message-to-queue), while the message flow which was used to test last year does not have MBFE output node
I will dig out the old flow and retest it to see the behaviour still the same or not, also check out the actual version of Toolkit and File Extender for any update on Monday morning.
If someone has observed the restart ability of MBFE Input node and has an idea of what is happening, could you please let us know.
It would be much appreciate. Thx |
