We encountered this error recently and do not know the exact cause at this point. The only way to get the channel to work was to reset the seqnum to 2 and then everything was flowing until the channel went inactive......then we would receive an abnormal stop error, then the sequence error. To resolve the issue we deleted and created the channel receiver and sender and everything went back to normal.
Has anyone seen this before, or knwo why something like this would happen? It seemed very strange that resetting to 1 would not clear up the seqnum error. It almost seemd like some phantom channel was running in mist and fouling things up with the seq. |

Originally the channel would get the errors noted and also a no receipt confirmation message......then go into retry and then it would start to run. As of yesterday it stuck in retry in the morning and in the early evening it went into an indoubt state. So ultimately yes INDOUBT.
Do you think the channels could have been damage by intermittent communication issues....we have been losing DNS a lot over the past month and these particular channels have been involved in the communication loss. We are grasping for any info....so we can ultimately resolve the issue. |

Check as well the SCS or SYSTEM.CHANNEL.SYNCQ, both on the MF and distributed.
My guess is you might have duplicate entries in there on the MF. You will need to open a PMR to get the utility allowing you to fix this problem.
However usually when this happens the seqnum are more than 1 apart and none of the LUOW match...
Check out the intercommunications manual about how to deal with a channel with an In Doubt flag set first.

Thanks for all the info, hopefully this issue does not come up again, but if it does I will be better prepared. |

I have had the same problem then I have deleted the reciever channel and xmitq associated with the sender channel, then I have recreated.
Now the problem has been resolved |

I remember something odd about migrated channel definitions from v5.3 to v6. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
