Hi everyone,
I've just done an installation of MQ 6.0 on a WINDOWS machine that was wiped clean. No previous version of MQ was present. I installed Eclipse and MQ 6.0 without issue, and upgraded it to 6.0.2.2 via fixpacks also without problems. Now, I'm creating TEST QUEUE MANAGERS using the explorer, but after they are created, I'm not able to CONNECT to them via the Explorer. I right click, and there is NO OPTION to connect. I can Stop the queue manager, or Stop the Command Server, run tests, Autoreconnect, etc, but no CONNECT.
From a command line, everything is fine, no worries. Listener is up and running and I have the SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL defined. My id is in both the ADMINISTRATORS group and the MQM group.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |

Does the show/hide work normally, and just the connect failing? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Did you restart the machine after installing? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hey guys,
Thanks for the responses. I just logged onto the system again, and while I didn't reboot it, I did recycle the MQ Services, which seems to have done the trick. I didn't think that a reboot was required. If it is, my assumption would have to be that someone has rebooted the system since I left it earlier this afternoon and returned this evening. _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |

Restarting IBM MQ Services is mostly equivalent to restarting the machine in this case - it causes the OAM to reload the permissions from the OS.
Which you can't do from REFRESH SECURITY until, um, the membership of the mqm group has been refreshed to allow someone other than MUSR_MQADMIN to issue REFRESH SECURITY. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Do we have to restart the MQ Service every time a new QMgr is created...?!!! _________________ Ashu

Even after creating a new qmgr. You should just be able to right click and choose connect.
Looks you had to initialize some additional stuff in MQServices that first time.
This should be loaded now every time you start your computer...
