I am trying to get updates for RUP and Toollkit but cannot get past the annoying 'Invalid update site' messages for '... /fixes/wbimbv60', '... /fixes/wbimbv60/discovery' and '... /rationalsdp/updater/60/update/site.xml'. I have enabled the proxy and the site network people have confirmed that there is no firewall blocking. I have confirmed that ftp is not blocked by downloading a supportpac pdf from a 'ftp.software.ibm.com' sub-directory.

Attempting to access the ftp urls directly returns 'Windows cannot access this folder'

I see from other threads that some users get the above responses while others have no problem. I have myself on occasion successfully downloaded maintenance through RUP, but not on this workstation or at this site so far.

Currently it also does not work from my notebook PC either with the firewall disabled through a dial-up ISP.

Give it an hour or two. Maybe IBM is uploading something and updating the page/site ?

:I get a 'Windows cannot access this folder' message. I get the same response when trying to access the folder that RUP is supposed to be using.

Try it again in an hour or two...



or just unzip the downloaded file, and point to that as a local update site...
