Hi guys,
This is a common problem that still eludes me.
I have a local queue manager that shows as up and running but the connection status in the local MQ explorer shows as disconnected.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
Thanks |

Yes - reconnect Explorer to the queue manager.
And don't double post!

Right click and select "Connect"
If it's a queue manager you frequently use, you might want to consider "Autoreconnect" _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

No sorry - The problem is bigger than that!
The icon of the local queue manager is a yellow backgroud with a green up arrow.
My icon is a white background with a green up arrow. |

That means you're not connected.
Well. Maybe not. I think the green arrow refers to the running status, and the yellow collor refers to connected/disconnected.
Either way it should tell you on the content page, if you click on the icon. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.

Your problem appears to be with the Eclipse desktop and the colour it's using for icons. If there's a green up arrow it's connected, or thinks it is.
For the record, my icons are white with green arrows. I'm not certain what that proves, if anything.
What version of MQ is this? If it's plain v6.0 I'd recommend upgrading even if it's nothing to do with this. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

White background with green arrow means it is a local queue manager, and it is currently running, but the queue manager is not connected. (white background is not connected, green arrow shows running, remote queue managers don't have arrows!)
From what you are saying I would guess that if you press right mouse button then there is no option to "connect"?
If this is the case, you probably don't have the bindings dll in your path. You can check this by pressing right mouse button on the "IBM WebSphere MQ" node at the top of the tree and selecting "Properties". In the dialog at appears click on "Configuration information" on the left hand send, and see what is said the the field: "mqjbnd05 loaded:".
If this says no then you need to include the bindings dll in the path. Search the forum for mqjbnd05 should provide you with some answers |

This problem can also occur from the lack of user rights.
I'm having the same problem with one of my test servers.
The Qmgr is up and running but depending on the username I'm logged in I don´t have the right to acces the qmgr. This happens even if the username I´ve used is a member of the mqm group, which means that the permissions should be ok, but still some policies behind the permissions are restricted
So check the permissions. You can easily test if this problem has got to do with permission-problem when trying to start runmqsc from command prompt. If it tells that: "AMQ8135: Not Authorized" you should check the permissions.
