Hi all,
I'm trying to apply maintence 6.0.2.2 on a WebSphere MQ 6.0.1.0 on HP-UX IA64.
All qms are ended and also we shutdown the machine, but we're getting "It seems a WebSphere MQ queue manager is running" on swinstall.
IBM told me to remove any nohup.out from the qm structure and rename the mqs.ini to mqs.ini.old.
Anyone could help me?
Tks,
Carla |

You say all qmgrs are Down. But have all processes attaching the qmgr (MDB) detached again?
In other words if you tried to restart the qmgr would it start or say something like can not start because process # 123456789 has a handle on the qmgr..?
Have you cleared shared memory using amqiclen?
Enjoy _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Do you have a plain file in /var/mqm/qmgrs?
This will cause amqiclen run as part of the pre-install check to return a false positive. If you have such a file, delete it.
See APAR IY97173. _________________ MQSeries.net helps those who help themselves.. |

Thanks for your reply.
The problem has already been resolved, but I didn't understand why I had this problem in a development environment and did not on the production.
Now it makes sense to me.
On the environment I got problem there are 2 plain files that don't belongs to MQ. That was the difference.
Anyway, the lab asked me to follow the technique in 1194755.technote to "short circuit" amqiclen.
thanks a lot,
Carla |
