Just curious if anyone is running WMB Toolkit V5.X or V6.x on Apple OS? If so, ar you using VMWARE?

It's completely unsupported.

How could anyone be running it?

The only way it could possibly be run is on Apple hardware, under a supported OS.

Windows on Apple is just fine - it's an expensive way to run windows though. But you can even run it natively on the hardware, in a dualboot config.

The statement of support for products under VMWare has been "it's supported up to the point where it's clearly an issue with VMWare".

So this should work - but I wouldn't do it for anything other than local development.

Yes, I've seen a few dual-boot machines and, as you stated, they were strictly for ease of development. I'm just more production oriented these days and I couldn't see any logic in using such a setup for any production environment.
