When the database goes down and comes back up...should the broker be restarted?

Hi
No, it wont get restarted, when the database goes down,
most of the times the broker hangs.
So before starting it check if any broker processes are running, if so clean it, if not, start it

It really depends on the version.
Later version handle this better than earlier versions.

| Specifically - in v5 you should restart your broker. From v6 onwards you shouldn't need to. |

If the problem with the DB was that your password had expired we found it more prudent to restart the broker after fixing the problem...
