What more details are you after, or could there be aside from version & fix pack level offered by these commands?

Hello Vitor,

I was just behind getting the details of the mq version in use, as the dspmqver or the mqver doesnt give much details,
when i execute the dspmqver it shows..
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.1.1
CMVC level: p600-101-060504
BuildType: IKAP - (Production),

or from the above can i know which is the csd/fixpack in use.

Cheers
Manoj

It clearly shows 6.0.1.1 as described in the documentation.

I ask again, what additional detail are you looking for? The IBM website contains the list of fixes in each pack, AFAIK that's not kept in the product anywhere though a passing IBMer may be able to correct me.

Look in C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\PTF\en_us.

Mine clearly shows MQ 6.0.2.1.

Code:

IBM WebSphere MQ, Version 6.0.2.1 fix pack readme for all
distributed platforms: AIX, HP-UX, iSeries, Linux, Solaris, and
Windows.

Perhaps this link will be helpful:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg21223595

The new dotted naming convention is explained here, so that you can interpret the output of dspmqver.

This is a base 6.0 installation:
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.0.0
CMVC level: p000-L050524
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

This has had Refresh Pack 1 and Fix Pack 1 applied.
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.1.1
CMVC level: p600-101-060504
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

hey thanx fraser

i know how to interpret that one

my point out here is apart from the output of dspmqver there is one file named as memo.ptf which also shows some relevant info about the version installed

in my case this is not happening ........................

i am running mq v 6.0 but that particular file shows somethin about v 5.3

i have pasted that priory on this post
