The following IBM MQSeries Family SupportPacs have been released.
IA0J: MQSeries Integrator - GetSQLCode Plug-in
When building message flows with MQSeries Integrator V2 that incorporate database nodes, it is often desirable to be able to interrogate the SQL return code following a failure in order to control subsequent logic. One way of doing this is to use a compute node and/or a filter node to parse the message Exception List, however this involves a degree of fairly complex ESQL that is unlikely to be within the ability of the average MQSI programmer.
This SupportPac provides an alternative mechanism for extracting the SQLCODE value. If an exception containing a SQLCODE value exists in the message being processed, the value is extracted and stored in the message at a location specified by the message flow programmer. The GetSQLCode implementation is thread-safe and will work equally well for deployments where Message Flows have been configured with multiple worker threads.
IA0K: MQSeries Integrator - Timer Plug-in
When implementing complex solutions with MQSeries Integrator V2, a common requirement is to initiate a message flow based on a time interval. For example, there may be processing that needs to be performed at regular intervals, or the arrival of a timer message might be used to check for completion of a previous operation. One solution to this problem is to write a custom application to manage the generation of such messages and pass them to MQSI, however, this involves a management overhead, that is. the application must be started, stopped and monitored.
This SupportPac provides an alternative mechanism for generating event or timer messages without the need for any external timer application. It is quick, intuitive, simple to implement and is highly flexible in the ways it can be deployed. The function is implemented using a pair of cooperating nodes; the TimerCreate node and TimerCancel node. The implementation allows timers to be visible in a variety of scopes, from Message Flows in the same Execution Group to Message Flows in any Execution Group in any Broker instance running on the same platform. Furthermore, the implementation is multi-threaded so it will work equally well for deployments where Message Flows have been configured with multiple worker threads.
IA0L: MQSeries Integrator - Uuidgen Plug-in
When building message flows with MQSeries Integrator V2, it is often desirable to be able to generate a unique value. Such a value might be used to initialise a MsgId or CorrelId field, or it could be used as the basis for a database key. The approach most customers have taken to solving this problem is to generate such values with an stand-alone application.
This SupportPac provides an alternative mechanism for generating a unique value within the broker environment. The UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) value generated is guaranteed to be unique among any other values also generated by the Uuidgen plug-in. The UUID value is a 16 byte (binary) value. The Uuidgen implementation is thread-safe and will work equally well for deployments where Message Flows have been configured with multiple worker threads.
The following IBM MQSeries Family SupportPacs have been updated:
IC01: MQSeries Integrator V2 - Message flow versioning utilities
This SupportPac provides three utilities to assist with versioning of message flows within MQSeries Integrator V2. It has been updated so that the mqsifiltermsgflows class export files now conform to expected format.
MP69: MQSeries for Sun Solaris V5.1 - Capacity planning guidance
This SupportPac provides capacity planning information relevant to MQSeries for Sun Solaris V5.1. Corrections have been made to table SCL50 and associated test comments.
