I'm working with MB v6 (on Windows)- and am trying to get the default configuration setup to run some of the samples. I've come to the point where it tries to create a listener for the Queue Manager, and it fails.

Here is the section of the log file that details the operation...
Quote:

Creating a listener for queue manager [WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER] on port 2414.
Status ERROR: com.ibm.etools.mft.eou code=0 Could not create the listener.

Collected output from task >
Stdout: [5724-H72 (C) Copyright IBM Corp. 1994, 2004. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Listener creation no longer supported

I have run netstat and verified that the port 2414 is not in use - so I don't think that's the problem. I am intrigued by the line "Listener creation no longer supported". Is this a deprecated step in the process?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try making sure that you're on the latest maintenance.

But I got stuck at exactly the same point. Never did work out what was wrong with the wretched thing, got fed up and set it up using the command line!

I've got what Default Configuration Wizard is trying to do:
Code:
amqmdain crtlsr WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER -t tcp 2414

My current MQ version is 6.0.2.2 and the result for this command was:
Code:
c:\>dspmqver
Name:        WebSphere MQ
Version:     6.0.2.2
CMVC level:  p600-202-070801
BuildType:   IKAP - (Production)

c:\>amqmdain crtlsr WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER -t tcp 2414

Listener creation no longer supported

Interesting.

I must confess that when I said "fed up", what I meant was "couldn't be asked to even look into the problem".

Thanks for posting.
