Hi Everyone,
My environment is:
MQ 6.0
MB 6.0.2
Windows XP

Problem Description:
I have installed the sendmailplugin and have created the following message flow: MQinput->Compute->SendMailPlugin->MQOutput

Following is the trace file just before the plugin node:

Following is the failure that i get:
<Message>
<From>xyz@abc.com</From>
<To>xyz@abc.com</To>
<Cc></Cc>
<Bcc></Bcc>
<Subject>Error in Interface</Subject>
<Body>klqdnlksqnvklqmsvnqlkvbqlkbvdlqkbvlqvbqlsvbqlsfvblqsvb</Body>
<SendMailError>TCP/IP error</SendMailError>
</Message>

I have checked with the mail admin and have given the correct SMTP mail server ip address and the port number.
I have used this plug in successfully before, but cannot seem to get it working now.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can you telnet to the SMTP server from the broker machine, using information the mail admin has given you?

Are you using the SMTP version of the sendmail plugin, and setting stuff on the SMTP preferences panel? Or did you accidentally install the sendmail version of the sendmail plugin...

Hi,
I have installed the IA07 support pack from the following address:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24000600

I have included the .lil file in the following folders:
C:\Program Files\IBM\MQSI\6.0\bin and C:\Program Files\IBM\MQSI\6.0\jplugin

I have included the plugin node into the toolkit following the procedure given in the IA07.pdf file. I think i have installed the correct version for SMTP.

I do seem to however have a problem with the telnet command.
I am not able to connect to the mail server using this command.
I checked with the mail admin, but he is not sure how to get around this problem.

Regards

If you can't telnet to the mailserver host and port ("telnet hostname port#") from the broker machine, then the sendmail node won't be able to establish an SMTP connection to the mailserver. And you'll get a TCP/IP error...

This is a network issue, not a Broker issue or a Mail Server issue.

You need to talk to your network people.

When you try doing "telnet hostname portnum" what error do you get? Does it give you connection refused or something else?

Hi All,

I have similar problem, initially i got tcp/ip error and message will comeup through failure terminal.

I contacted the mail server admin and now it seems message goes directly to failure terminal and i am getting following error, which i don't know what it means.

SendMailError = 503 5.5.2 Need Rcpt command.\r\n

Any idea what it means and what i should do?

Thanks
Jen
